Project Overview
Byblos Constructions successfully delivered the Big Bell Village Expansion project for Westgold Resources in partnership with Sodexo, increasing accommodation capacity to support ongoing mining operations and workforce growth at the Big Bell Gold Mine. The project involved the installation of 40 additional accommodation rooms, together with the design and construction of supporting infrastructure and services within an operational village environment.
Scope of Works
The works included the delivery and installation of modular accommodation units and all associated infrastructure required to integrate the expansion into the existing village, including:
- Installation of 40 additional accommodation rooms
- Site establishment and earthworks
- Detailed electrical and hydraulic design
- Potable water and sewer infrastructure connections
- Electrical reticulation and distribution board upgrades
- Concrete footpaths, patios, and access infrastructure
- Air conditioning and hot water system installation
- Landscaping and village amenity improvements
- Testing, commissioning, and project handover
Outcomes
Delivered from mobilization through to handover in under five weeks, the project demonstrates Byblos’ capability to execute fast-tracked remote accommodation and infrastructure projects while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and stakeholder coordination.
